Confident & Safe
Teaching Consent, Safety, and Social Wellness With Confidence
Supporting parents, caregivers, and educators with simple, practical tools to teach consent, boundaries, healthy communication, and social wellness skills to youth and young adults with disabilities.
As a caretaker, your priority is your young person’s safety, confidence, and wellbeing.
Parents, caregivers, and educators often want to teach consent, boundaries, communication, and safety — but aren’t always given the tools to do it in a way that supports youth and young adults with disabilities.
At Confident & Safe, we provide simple, practical resources grounded in inclusive practice and developmental expertise. You’ll get scripts, visual supports, and real-life strategies that make these conversations easier, clearer, and more comfortable for everyone.
Every young person deserves to understand their body, express their feelings, set boundaries, and build healthy relationships. We help you teach these skills with confidence — so the youth in your care can navigate the world safely and with self-advocacy.
Meet Dr. Emily Capolongo
Dr. Emily Capolongo is a special educator with over 13 years of experience supporting youth and young adults with disabilities. Throughout her career, she noticed a critical gap: families, caregivers, and educators were expected to navigate conversations about consent, safety, communication, and boundaries — yet were rarely given the tools to do so confidently.
That gap became her mission.
Drawing on her work in schools, adult transition programs, and family support services, Dr. Emily developed simple, inclusive, and accessible ways to teach consent, boundaries, safety, and social wellness skills to young people with a wide range of abilities. Her approach empowers adults with clear language, visual supports, and practical strategies that fit naturally into everyday routines.
Today, through Confident & Safe, she helps parents and caregivers feel supported as they guide their young people toward independence, healthier interactions, and safer relationships with the world around them.
